New Issue of The Nashwaak Review Now Available

The new issue of The Nashwaak Review is now available.

Its editor Professor Stewart Donovan is pleased to have collaborated with the Provincial Archives once more.

鈥淭his is the third time in the 25-year life of our magazine that we have collaborated with the Archives,鈥 said Donovan, noting also how relevant and contemporary the theme of migrants to New Brunswick and Canada is at this time.

鈥淥ur memories tend to be short term, and most of us need to be reminded that we came to the 鈥楴ew World鈥 as migrants in search of a better life.鈥

Besides poetry and prose on this theme, Donovan is also pleased to have the award-winning poet George Elliot Clarke in the magazine again. Clarke, a Governor General鈥檚 award winner was also a Canadian Poet Laureate and the former Poet Laureate of Toronto as well. George鈥檚 subject matter of course often concerns his African-Canadian roots and heritage.

黑料老司机 professor Trevor Sawler has a moving review tribute to the New Brunswick writer, and 黑料老司机 alumnus, the late Ray Fraser (to whom the issue is also dedicated).

Professor Donovan also said that this issue of the Nashwaak also contains the usual high standard of poetry, short stories, travel pieces and reviews that the magazine is known for across the country and internationally.
